Regardless of who you are or how long you have been a part of West Bradenton, everyone agrees that we're family.  At the heart of every healthy family is love - for the Lord and for one another. Our desire through pastoral care is to provide encouragement, guidance, and hope through difficult times.

Biblical Counseling

West Bradenton Baptist Church provides short-term Bible-based counseling for both partners and guests as part of our ministry to the church and local community. This short-term Biblical counseling is offered at no charge.

(Please Note:  Our pastoral staff are not professional counselors.  Often times further counseling or expertise is needed depending upon the situation.  When this occurs, our pastoral staff will help connect you with a professional who can assist more effectively.)

Prayer Ministry

We believe in the power of prayer.  Lifting up the special needs of our families is an important part of our Prayer Ministry. If you have a need for which you would like our Prayer Ministry to lift before the Lord, you may make that request by calling (941) 748-6926 or by submitting that request online (click here).

Hospital Ministry

Our Pastors and Deacons extend compassionate ministry and prayer to those who are hospitalized through personal visitation in the area's hospitals. Recent changes in the law have limited the information hospitals can give to those requesting information about patients, so it is necessary to contact the Pastoral Care office to report any admissions or surgical procedures. You may call the office at (941) 748-6926 during regular office hours.  Visits are normally made within twenty-four hours of the notification, but quicker response is occurs in the event of an emergency.

Benevolence Ministry

Extraordinary circumstances occasionally create special financial needs. Our Benevolence Ministry seeks to provide financial assistance and/or Biblically-based guidance for members to help them in a time of special need. You may call (941) 748-6926 for answers to questions you may have about making a request for assistance.

Bereavement Ministry

Families share their grief at the passing away of a loved one. Our church family is no exception. Our desire is to provide care and comfort for families who have suffered loss. When we are made aware of a loss, one of our Pastors immediately attempts to contact a family member to express our condolences in the loss, to pray for the family, and to offer any assistance that the family may request. In addition, we notify the Family Group where the deceased or family members of the deceased are enrolled so that those groups can offer special ministry to the family. To notify the Pastoral staff of a death, call (941) 748-6926.

We are developing our pastoral care emphases in areas such as Homebound Ministry, Hospice Ministry, Widows Ministry.
